Wedding Tents
The cost of weddings has skyrocketed, so what's a newlywed girl
supposed to do? Using a tent for your outdoor reception or the entire
wedding ceremony may be a good idea, and an excellent way to save some
of your money for the honeymoon, (or some fabulous new lingerie). A
tent can be rented and set up by professionals, and then decorated to
your tastes. By wedding tent, nobody is referring to the canvas, olive
green army castoffs or the nylon campground tent. Outdoor wedding tents
can hold up to nearly one hundred people depending on its size, and
some are more open and airy by design than you would normally imagine. One of the most beautiful weddings that I have ever been to was an
outdoor party, the ceremony was in a church and the reception was in
this tent in the bride's parent's backyard. Her father had rented a
tent- big enough to hold about twenty tables. Around all of the support
poles, they wound soft pink and gray ( her colors) cloth with pink
twinkle lights. The entire ceiling area of this wedding tent was
covered in gauze, and filled with pink balloons. Once you came into
this tent, you forgot that you were in one- it was that beautiful. The
tables were lovely and lighting was provided by the twinkle lights and
candles. The place was almost like a fairy tale and the most beautiful
part was at the end of the night: just as the bride and groom were on
their way out, the guaze was dropped from the ceiling and the balloons
floated down upon the gathered well wishers. The children at this
outdoor wedding were thrilled to death as they chased the hundreds of
balloons, and the bride and groom were amused as well. Not everyone is as creative as this particular family with an
outdoor wedding, or their wedding tent, but that does not mean you are
stuck with just the boring, generic tent. Decorate as the bride
chooses, or choose a theme to surprise here. What matters is that your
friends and family have gathered together to wish you well on this
special day. You are saving yourself some money, which is a good thing
especially now that you are starting a brand new life, and possibly
buying a new home if you are lucky. So, where do you start looking for a tent for your outdoor wedding
party? Your best bet is to check with party rental places first, or
with a professional party planner who may agree to give you some
information without charge. If you have been to an outdoor wedding
party recently, discreetly ask the host where they got their tent from.
Unless you have more than four or five children to throw parties for,
do not buy a tent- the cost will not be recovered through use if it is
rarely used. On the other hand, who says the tent has to be only used
for weddings?
