Wedding Ideas for 2009
With each new year comes a continual stream of engagements and wedding
planning, bridal showers and stacks of bridal magazines. Every bride
wants her wedding to be just so, absolutely perfect, and in every way,
celebrating her and her groom. There are endless wedding ideas and so
many places to find them that it may often be overwhelming. However,
allow me to share just a few special thoughts on weddings ideas for
this wonderful year of 2009.
The year 2009 will be bright and bold in wedding colour schemes,
something that is quite different from the previous two years of more
subtle colours. Don't be afraid to step out and try something new,
something perhaps a little bit different than you've ever seen at a
wedding before. Top colour schemes for this year include orange, brown
and champagne, yellow, orange and pink, lots of blue, and still, the
ever famous, black and white. Perhaps the most important thing to think
on is making even the colour scheme personal and meaningful. (i.e. the
bride and groom have a special inside joke about bumblebees, so
incorporate those colours into the wedding to make everyone laugh!)
2009 wedding cake trends are very interesting and bold as well. Such
ideas for this year include hexagonal and square-shaped cakes or a
square-shaped cupcake tower. While bold is definitely in, classic still
reigns supreme with chic black-and-white being high on the list.
However, do not be afraid to be adventurous in this area as well.
(Perhaps cake is not your thing, and you'd rather delight your guests
with brownie sundaes and a myriad of delectable toppings!)
With the more modern age, the concept of wedding favours is also
changing. Something very important in these days of weddings is that
the favour be commemorative while also being practical. Some ideas may
be a special dessert with a recipe card attached, flower seed cards, or
even a candy buffet! Again, be creative, and try to incorporate
personal touches. (i.e. the bride and groom love to bake chocolate chip
cookies together, so give away cookies and glass bottles of chocolate
milk!)
Perhaps the biggest thing to remember when planning your wedding for
2009 is to be creative, be personal, and be brave. Your wedding day
only comes once, and it is something you will remember for a lifetime.
Certainly, it will be special simply because of what you are
celebrating and whom you are with,
